Medical & Professional License Defense

FIRM OVERVIEW – MEDICAL & PROFESSIONAL LICENSE DEFENSE

If you are a physician, nurse, dentist, pharmacist, attorney, physical therapist, psychologist, therapist, realtor, broker or other licensed professional, Elder & Good, PLLC is dedicated to the defense of your medical or professional license in Kentucky and Ohio.  Quite simply, our purpose is to defend your medical and professional license.  This includes handling any legal issue that can impact your license or ability to practice your profession, such as application & licensing issues, Board investigations, disciplinary hearings & appeals, hospital actions, criminal actions, and denials & exclusions from Medicare, Medicaid and insurance companies.

In short, Elder & Good, PLLC is not a general law practice focusing on every area of the law.  To the contrary, we focus on one area of the law and have one priority every day we practice law, which is to protect and defend your medical or professional license.

A LEGAL TEAM

Chad Elder formerly worked as an attorney for the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure.  During his five years as a lawyer for the Kentucky Medical Board, Mr. Elder acquired invaluable institutional knowledge of the Board, as well as substantial experience and skill in handling Board application and licensing issues, Board investigations, disciplinary hearings and administrative appeals to courts of law.  His skills and experience acquired as a Medical Board attorney have enabled Mr. Elder to provide the highest quality defense to his doctor, nurse, dentist and other professional clients.

Brian Good has devoted years to providing the highest caliber license defense to his physician, nurse, dentist and other professional clients before their respective state boards and in courts of law.  He has had license restrictions and suspensions overturned or favorably modified after board hearings.  In addition, Mr. Good has successfully argued for injunctions against enforcement of board orders in courts of law, including orders of suspension and revocation.  He also has substantial experience and skill in handling Board licensing and application issues, Board investigations, disciplinary hearings and administrative appeals to courts of law.

At one point in their legal careers, Mr. Elder and Mr. Good litigated Board disciplinary cases against each other.  They negotiated settlements, as well as litigated hearings before the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure with Mr. Elder representing the Board and Mr. Good representing the physician.  They also litigated against each other in courts of law relating to administrative appeals.

Several years ago, they joined forces to represent physicians, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, lawyers, physical therapists, social workers and other licensed professionals before their state boards and in courts of law in Kentucky and Ohio. Together, they offer clients the experience, skill and perspective of both sides of a board action.  Accordingly, Elder & Good, PLLC is uniquely positioned to offer outstanding legal representation for every issue that can impact a medical or professional license or career.

FORMER STATE FELONY PROSECUTORS

Before litigating against each other and before combining their experiences from both sides of a Board case, Chad Elder and Brian Good were prosecutors who handled serious felony cases.  As former felony prosecutors, they are well equipped to provide effective criminal defense to medical and licensed professionals who face Board investigation, a formal Board complaint or criminal prosecution.  Their experience in handling Board cases provides them with unique and invaluable knowledge of the impact a criminal conviction can have on a professional license and your ability to practice your profession.
